All tools
Twenty-one tools, all running on the same word list and all working the same way: the search happens on your device rather than our server, so nothing you type is sent anywhere and the second search costs nothing. Each one below says what actually makes it different, because the names alone do not.
Board and tile games
Same letters, three different scoring tables. Opening the same rack in each is genuinely instructive.
Word unscrambler
The main tool. Every word your letters can make, grouped by length, with both game scores and a definition on each.
Scrabble word finder
Ranked by Scrabble score, with the tile distribution and a map of the premium squares.
Words With Friends
Scored on the Words With Friends table, where N, U and L all cost more than in Scrabble.
Wordfeud helper
The third table again, and the only one of the three with no Z tile in the bag at all.
Text Twist solver
Three letters and up, because a Text Twist round is scored on volume rather than one answer.
Daily puzzles
Different clue shapes. What separates these is what the puzzle has already told you.
Countdown solver
Nine letters, longest word first, scored the way the letters round scores it. Conundrum help too.
Wordle solver
Filter five-letter words by greens, yellows and greys, with measured letter frequencies behind the advice.
Quordle solver
Four independent boards on one page. Works for Dordle and Octordle too.
Spelling Bee solver
The one puzzle where letters repeat freely, so it needs a different search entirely.
Crossword solver
Search by letter pattern when you know some squares and not others.
Jumble solver
Newspaper jumbles, weighted so the everyday word an editor would print comes first.
Boggle solver
The only one where position matters: words must trace a path through touching squares.
Word tools
The ones that are not about winning a game.
Anagram solver
Only words that use every letter exactly once, which is what a puzzle with one answer needs.
Hangman solver
Ranks which letter to guess next by how much it would narrow the field, not by raw frequency.
Check a word
Valid or not, what it means, and what it scores in all three games.
Syllable counter
For poetry and for grading spelling lists by difficulty rather than by letter count.
Unscramble by letters
Thousands of ready-made pages, one per set of letters, each with its word list already written out.
For teachers and parents
Nothing a pupil types is transmitted or stored, which is worth knowing before you use anything in a classroom.
Word scramble maker
Paste a spelling list and get several shuffled versions of each word, so you pick the difficulty.
Random word generator
Everyday words in any length range, for prompts, charades or spelling practice.
Random letter generator
Draw letters weighted like a real Scrabble bag, or evenly across the alphabet.
Word lists
Browse by length, opening letter, ending or prefix. Real lists, not stubs.
Guides
The two-letter words, the Q words with no U, and five-letter words by opening letter.
What we deliberately do not have
Most sites in this category carry pages of daily answers: today's Wordle, today's jumble, this morning's crossword. We do not, and the reason is worth stating.
Those pages need updating every single day. The moment nobody updates them they are worse than useless, because a stale answer page is actively wrong and it stays in search results for months. Every solver here works from the letters in front of you, so it is correct today and it will still be correct in a year without anyone touching it.
The same reasoning is why there is no Sudoku or Block Blast solver here. They are not word tools, and adding them would say more about chasing traffic than about being useful.
What every tool here shares
- No account, no limit, no charge
- The search runs on your device, so nothing you type reaches us
- Works offline once the word list has loaded
- Both game scores on every result
- Definitions open in place where we have one
Something missing?
If there is a word tool you would use and it is not here, tell us. Requests that can be answered from a word list are the easy ones to add.
